Primulas!!!!

After yesterday's post I found this picture of last year's spring window box, my own print of primulas. I just love the variety of color in these cultivated pot plants. Instant gratification.

Thought you might like this addendum to my print post.

Adorable!

Here in Brooklyn the narcissus and crocuses (croci?) are in bloom, but we're still waiting on the forsythia, it seems. All of the corner bodegas are selling tulips, hyacinths, and daffodils, so it's LIKE springtime, even though everyone's still wearing overcoats.

Thanks Sarah, I have cut a bouquet of forsythia branches to force for Sunday services. Should make a lovely show.

Keep the coat on...next week could be the beginning of spring.

Even though spring is officially here it doesn't feel like it where I am yet.

Very bright and colorful window box. I love mossed planters.

Now those are some beautiful planters. I don't know what it is with the plant material this year, I can't find nice primroses or pansies.

Lowes had much more variety than Home Depot, they had many early blooming perennials in bloom such as wall flowers (I'm pretty sure I know the botanical name but can't spell it) and Doronicum which I keep wanting to try.

A good friend of mine works at Main St. Nursery and she lets me know when the really good stuff comes in.
